On this third Labrador Land album we were getting pretty comfortable working together in the studio and experimented with rehearsing less or not at all, going for a fresh live take. There’s always a bit of magic the first time a song comes together with the band so rather than that happening in a rehearsal room we wanted to capture it in the studio. So at the risk of wasting studio time we did a couple of sessions where we played the songs together for the first time with the tape running. Hardpressed is one where what you hear is the first run through.

It was a fun process and I’m really grateful for to all the musicians for being part of it. It’s taken a long time after the sessions to get this out for whole a lot of boring reasons. I hope you enjoy it.
